Buffalo Wild Wings on Merle Hay Road just let us know they are extending our participation in their fundraising program through the End of the Year! Anytime you eat at the Merle Hay BWW you can earn 10% of your bill for Samuelson! Simply show your server the flyer that came home earlier in the year. The restaurant may issue us new flyers with the updated expiration date, but until then the original flyers are valid.
Thanks to everyone who supported the Walk-a-Thon last week! We are busy tallying the envelopes, figuring winners and ordering prizes this week. As soon as we have all the prizes ready to go home with students we will announce the results and schedule the Principal Pizza Party for those who earned at least $100 for the Walk-a-thon.
One aspect of the fundraiser that we love is that the shirts students earn for raising $75 are designed at printed by Des Moines Public School students at Central Campus. The students get experience working with real world clients (the PTO) and we get great shirts at a lower cost. Sometimes this process takes a little longer to get our shirts since students aren't in class everyday, but the PTO board feels it is well worth the wait.
