Behind the Scenes Fun Night Help

Thanks to everyone who came to the PTO and Fun Night Meeting on Tuesday. We came up with some ideas to improve the evening. Notes will come home soon with information about helping on Fun Night, March 9. Until then, there are several "behind the scenes" ways you can help get ready for the big night.

+ Door Prize Drawings. We've had 8 - 10 Door Prizes for students attending each year and we'd like to continue doing this. The kids get excited to hear their names called over the loudspeakers! Diana Garcia has agreed to seek out prizes again this year for the evening - Thanks! But she could use your help :) In the past we've had gift card for local restaurants, movies theaters, etc. Perhaps your business would be willing to donate a gift card for the drawing? Or did you get a great educational toy on clearance recently that you'd like to donate? We're looking for items that are worth about $10.

+ Kids of Character Baskets. Kris Jackson volunteered to coordinate the Baskets this year - thanks! If you don't know or remember what the Baskets are, a note will be coming home mid-February with more details. Kris needs someone who help pick-up the donated items on Wednesday, Feb 29, help assemble them that evening and/or help deliver the baskets to school on Thursday, March 1. There will be 21 baskets and in the past I've been able to get all of them to school in one trip in the back of my SUV - for an idea of the space needed.

+ Creative Thinkers Needed. One of my priorities this year was to make sure that they gym doesn't get so chaotic during Fun Night. At the meeting we decided to move some games into the gym. We want to make very specific spaces for those activities to limit the open area and opportunities for students to run around. We need help figuring out to the cordon off those game areas. Some kind of stands with rope/chain between? What we use needs to be sturdy, easy to store, not take up too much room, be flexible (for future uses), and in-expensive. If you have any ideas, please let me know!

Thanks for thinking about how you can help with these “behind the scenes” activities. If you can help, or have any ideas/suggestions for Fun Night, please let me know.
